KARBONIS – Created 2018 – INDUSTRIAL FUTURISTIC TYPEFACE

Karbonis typeface is inspired by my love of video gaming & the Wipeout Racing Series from my childhood on the Playstation 2. My fascination with the videogame & its feel & design style many years later & led me to create a number of racing livery designs based on teams from the game in Forza Motorsport.

Following these ideas it was time to create my own team & technical drawing of my personal racing craft. The resulting spacecraft design forms the main poster where the original illustration contained a custom logotype in just my initials. This was used as part of the initial font sketches to expand the font into a full useable set of characters.

Built in 2 weights “Karbonis Type One”, is the solid version & “Karbonis Type Two” a cut out/modern eroded version. Both fonts have Uppercase, Lowercase, Numerals & a selected number of special characters & alternates. Really not a body font (its much too futuristic!)
