Also known as Soviet League Expanded, Revolución was inspired by the artwork & themes surrounding the Cuban Revolution of the 1950s. The letterforms are strong, bold, & condensed & come in 4 styles. The brutalist style combined with the hand-drawn, organic feel of the edges produces a typeface that exudes a sense of power mixed with emotion & organization mixed with improvisation—which, I feel, aptly describes the mixing of Soviet & Cuban culture & ideologies during the period.
